Cylinders

Wrap it.
Turn it.

Cans, mugs, bottles, rolls. Your artwork wraps around the object in your photo, and you turn it to show the side you want.

A cylinder mockup wraps a flat label or pattern around a round object in a photo, such as a can, a mug or a bottle, so it narrows and darkens towards the edges like the real print would.

Curvature, edge views and rotation. Silent demonstration, 19.5 seconds.

How it works

  1. Choose the Cylinder shape for the layer.
  2. Fit the layer to the object. A grid shows the shape on the photo, so you see at once if it sits right.
  3. Set the Curvature, then the Top view and Bottom view separately, to match the camera angle.
  4. Drop your design. ⌘ + drag turns it around the object.

What you can wrap

  • Drink cans and bottles.
  • Mugs, cups and jars.
  • Candles, tubes, rolls of paper or tape.
  • Any round label shot in your own photography.

Light and finishes still apply

The wrapped design takes the light of the photo, and finishes stay available: a foil logo on a can, a varnish on a jar label. The design turns, the finish turns with it.

One label, every object

Tag the layer, for instance "label". Every layer with that tag in the project gets the same design. Change the label once, and all the cans, mugs and bottles follow.

Put your label on the real thing.
